Revenue and Transport Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput has said that illegal colonies / buildings built on surplus vested government land in Indore will be regularized under the Urban Land Limitation Act 1976. He said that pattas will be provided after getting the amount of interest payable after the stipulated period of 12 percent for the first year of delay of land rent and 15 percent for the remaining period including simple interest by encroachers who have not deposited partial or any amount against the ongoing demand.
Minister Shri Rajput informed that 12 months time will be given to resolve the case. In this period, the person in possession of the land will be evicted if he does not deposit the amount. Along with this, the encoracher will be charged with rent at penal rate till the date of eviction for the extended period. He said that at present, action will be taken to provide pattas only in residential cases. Action will be taken later in relation to the land being used for commercial use.
