It is said that India has finally constituted a committee headed by former DRDO scientist VK Saraswat which is looking into the development of a new indigenous 110kN class aero gas turbine engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Airplane. The committee has been taking feedback from both Private, Public and Academics in the country on ways to develop a new engine which doesn’t exist. It is said that India's massive ambition is to produce AMCA by 2030 or thereabouts. It is said that India has already spent nearly INR 2000 crores on Kaveri engine which might look huge but it is not even 30-40% of the developmental money spend by others on a similar class of engine elsewhere.
