Bengaluru, There seems to be no let-up in the monsoon mayhem for Karnataka. The weather office sounded red alert as more heavy rains are forecast in the coming week.
“Red alert has been sounded as the forecast is heavy to very heavy rains in the state over the next 4-5 days. South-West monsoon is peaking and favorable conditions, including the formation of thick clouds and strong wind movement, have been observed,” said an official of the IMD.
The districts most affected are coastal districts of Dakshin Kannada and Udupi, Chikkamagluru, Hassan and Shivamogga in central Karnataka and Malnad and Kodagu in the south.
