Journalist Saurabh Trivedi shared visuals from outside of Tihar jail in Delhi where people congregated in large numbers and began clapping loudly when clock struck 5.30 in the morning. This is because the Indian court had ruled yesterday that four men convicted of gangrape and murder of young woman back in 2012 need be hanged at 5.30 am today.
The four men had been adopting legal measures to delay the hanging but it could not be postponed any further.
