Amaravati. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been put under house arrest together with son and TDP leader Nara Lokesh.
The preventive detention was made to stop them from participating in a protest against the state government. TDP planned a "Chalo Atmakur rally" in Guntur to protest what they claimed as political violence by the state government.
It's alleged that eight party workers had been killed and several face threats from the state’s ruling YSR Congress Party. YSRCP came to power in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly polls in May.
