Terming the 'triple talaq' to be a religious matter, the Deoband Muslim women have opined against government interference.
The women added that government should focus on education of Muslims girls rather interfering between husband and wife.
'Triple talaq' is a customary practice, prevalent among Muslims, that dissolves a marriage when the husband says the word 'Talaq' thrice.
Locals in Deoband have said that government should limit themselves to providing education and livelihood.
A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court ruled "unconstitutional", the practice of 'triple talaq'.
