Panic on COVID could attract punishment, says police commissioner

Rumours can particularly be problem for the administration when there is worldwide scare like now in COVID menace. Now Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar IPS took to social media to caution that 'spreading false news and rumours are bad for society .Those who are spreading false information on social media and creating panic on corona virus are liable for punishment under NDMA act section 54. 1 . Punishment can be upto an year imprisonment and fine'.
