Ahead of the manned space mission where Indian Space Research Organization aims to send three Indians to space by year 2022, the space agency has introduced Vyommitra on unmanned mission. The Vyommitra is a half humanoid since she doesn't have legs and can mimic the activity of a crew of astronauts.ISRO’s first half-humanoid, Vyommitra has been developed to monitor pro-module parametres in the space capsule. She will be sent to unmanned space mission in December 2020 on Gaganyaan. A humanoid can monitor biological parameters & perform life support operations. It can also converse with the astronauts, recognise them & can also respond to their queries.
